What You Once Knew

What You Once Knew

What you once knew

you can re-know.

No shame, no blame

for having forgotten.

We all forget.

To engage

in the re-membering of our true,

light-filled

selves is to live.

Too late! I hear you say.

This just shows

that you haven't yet

remembered what you once knew.

It doesn't take long to remember—

the blink of an eye,

the flicker of a flicker's tail.

However, it may take a lifetime

of wandering in darkness,

wondering when you will ever know light again.

By now you may have forgotten

that you ever did know it.

Dark seems eternal though the opposite is true:

it is light that rules.

En-lighten yourself.

Re-know what you once knew,

in whatever guise.

You have only (only!)

to open your eyes.
