Trust the hours,
for surely that's what we have the most of.
Trust stretching time:
seconds and minutes
innocently waiting to be noticed,
to be en-joyed by your awareness.
Spend more time than usual
delighting in the way the winter trees' sharp lines
look like cracks in the blue dome of sky.
When Spring prepares to emerge
and you walk along the sidewalks
stop for seconds,
minutes even,
to see the swelling at the nodes
of every branch and twig.
Hope, we call it.
Pause, when you open the door
and claim the morning news,
to feel the change in the weather.
Trust the seconds and the minutes
and the hours will reward you.
