Into a life too vast for words
I propel my untested consciousness,
relieved, on the one hand,
not to have to do the usual search for words,
(now become as scarce as hens' teeth)
and yet on the other hand awed,
intimidated, and confused
about what to bring to,
what to take from
the vastness I face.
Not that I am uniquely alone in this;
it's the human condition.
A life too vast for words can break us open—
a painful, healing thing.
Being open to the vastness?
Devoutly to be wished.
