Toward a New Kind of Love

Can there even be a new kind of love?

Let's enumerate the ones we know:

For a child

Sexual (is lust a better word here?)

Filial

For humanity in general

Goodwill under a different name

The kind that starts hot but cools down (thank you,

            Cole Porter)

The kind that starts small and grows over time, time, and

            more time to encompass the heart

Of self

Fraternal

Of the wildflower growing from the crack in the rock

Glowing from inside you

Connecting you to the emptiness that is form, the

            form that is emptiness
