The Giant Question Mark

I've had it with giant question marks.

I know you think we are defined

by the eternal questioning, the questing.

But there are other ways to live,

some of which involve acceptance

rather than subjecting everything

to the giant question mark.

 

Easy for some,

this business of acceptance.

Easy when life is mild and the outside world

is free of random explosions.

I guess we live where we live,

take what comes,

and carry gratitude with us

in our everyday backpack of burdens.

 

I will reserve for another time,

another life,

the giant question mark.
